The Installation Process

Our landscaping company follows a set installation process. If you are having a driveway or a patio installed for the first time and you would like to know how our presence will impact your day-to-day routines, we will discuss this with you during our initial visit, survey and consultation. DPS Landscaping & Roofing can produce a quotation, complete with labour and material costings, and there is never any obligation to press on and use our services.

Here is a short explanation of how our landscapers lay block paving:

  • Site Survey – After measuring the workspace, evaluating the drainage and assessing risks, we order block paving in your preferred size and shade.
  • Groundworks – Our company scans for utilities then excavates the workspace to a sufficient depth for us to lay the foundations, edging and pavers.
  • The Sub-Base – We use quality aggregates, cements and sands to create a sub-base that acts as a stable foundation for your block paving installation.
  • Edging and Kerbs – For decorative or retaining purposes, we give customers the option to have edging and kerbs laid which help retain the pavers.
  • Drainage – Although block paving is typically permeable, we make provisions for drainage and may alter your current system or install a soakaway.
  • Surfacing – With everything in place, our talented team lays the pavers and then uses a mortar to fill between the joints prior to applying a sealant.

Should you require our landscapers to uplift block paving to allow another contractor to access utilities, we can make this both simple and affordable. Many of our customers in Fleet, and just as many living in the surrounding Camberley and Farnham areas, choose pavers because they uplift as individual units and can be used again. This is also a benefit if one of the pavers suffers from damage and needs replacing with a new block.

Importantly, we always work from multiple packs to ensure a good variation in colour because block paving can have a contrast in shade even when manufactured as part of the same batch. We can lay in a choice of designs including the popular basketweave and herringbone patterns.
